Back in 2000, Clermont was a city of 9,300. The intersection at Highway 50 and Hancock Road still had a 4-way stop sign. Today, we’re 47,000+ Clermontonians with no signs of our growth slowing.
It’s not just Clermont that’s growing. We’re benefiting from a wave of transplants from the snowbelt states who are seeking year-round sunshine. According to the Florida Chamber of Commerce, it’s projected that the population of Florida will reach 26 million by 2030. That means 1,357 people will be moving to Florida every day – almost 10,000 people per week.
The growth of our state and city doesn’t occur in a steady stream. It’s seasonal. Most moves occur in the spring/summer.
