Happy New Year!

Every January, we review the previous year and set new goals.  This year we’re doing the same – with mixed emotions.

In 2022, we sold 69 properties for $31 million in real estate sales.  That $31 million number is our highest sales volume ever, while 69 properties is our lowest annual total in 5 years.  We saw home values soar to their highest values ever.  And with the mix of high values and increasing interest rates, we saw home ownership become unreachable for many people in our local market.  All of that was met with mixed emotions – grateful for our accomplishment and frustration that there are some we couldn’t help.

In our own office, the last month of the year gave our team a glimpse back into the reality that we aren’t in control: one team member was in a car accident, two team members were in the hospital, four team members were sick, and one team member was stranded for four days by Southwest Airlines.  We had no choice but to cover for each other and just get through it.  We had a lot of mixed emotions last month – wondering what’s going to happen next and grateful to have others we can count on. 

As we jump into the new year, there are several unknowns: interest rates, changing home values, our and our family’s health, the amount of business we’ll create this coming year, and the list goes on. In the end, we know that we’ll continue to work hard, care about our clients, and give back to our community.  And this year, we’re going to take a little better care of ourselves.

December 2022 Clermont, FL (34711) Market Update

Last month, the number of homes listed for sale was down a third over December 2021. As of January 3rd, there are 191 single-family homes for sale in 34711 and 115 homes under contract. With interest rates above 6%, buyer competition has slowed, homes are taking longer to sell, and values are leveling off – thanks in part to price decreases.
